Claudia Anderson serves as the Development and Marketing Manager for the League of Women Voters of California. Claudia began her civic work as a volunteer with the German Red Cross. She spent a year, after college, in Hamburg, Germany working in a shelter for women and children. Claudia continued civic engagement work after graduate school, where she served in the Governor’s office as the Chief Operating Officer at California Volunteers, the state commission tasked with engaging Californians in service, volunteering and civic action to address the state’s most pressing challenges. From there she moved into a communications position for a nonprofit association dealing with issues impacting nonprofit senior living and care organizations that included affordable housing, assisted living, skilled nursing home and community-based care, continuing care retirement communities and hospice care. She has worked most of her career in the nonprofit sector and is committed to furthering the work of the League. She joined the League in May 2020. In her role, Claudia researches and writes grant proposals, explores corporate funding initiatives, spearheads fundraising opportunities and engages donors in the work of the League.
