Wikipedia Women's Edit-a-Thon "Women and Democracy"

Event Date:
December 15, 2012 - 1:00 pm
Event Location:
168 14th Street

We hope you'll join us at the Wikipedia Women's Edit-a-thon, hosted by the League of Women Voters of California Education Fund, WikiStrategies and Tech Liminal (a co-working space in Oakland).

The theme is "Women and Democracy."  League members are invited to bring their valuable expertise in democracy - a topic that could use lots of work on Wikipedia - and we're excited to bring Wikipedians with great tech experience to get to know you and help get great information online. Don't know how to edit Wikipedia? That's ok, friendly, experienced
editors will be here to help and we can partner League content experts with editors (to work as a team).

The edit-a-thon will be Saturday, December 15 from 2-5pm.

  • Beginners are invited to arrive promptly at 1pm for an intro session.
  • More experienced folks can come at 2pm for the general editing session.

Please see the Wikipedia meetup page for more details. You are encouraged to RSVP there, but you can also just show up! The Twitter and social hashtag is #wikiathon.
