What is the LWVC Leadership Council?
This is where our grassroots leadership culture comes alive!
Come together with League leaders from across the state in an intimate setting to network, share ideas, build your skills, and celebrate successes. This is the perfect event to make you the best leader you can be, so that you can help your local League be the best it can be.
What Will Happen at Council?
Group sessions, speakers and special events are a big part of Council. We also conduct some business during plenary. Most importantly, this is a chance for you to network and share your skills, experience, and questions. The First Call to Convention will be sent out to all local League leaders between 90 and 30 days before it starts, as required by our bylaws.
- Read about the sessions on our Council Blog.
- In accordance with the LWVC bylaws, delegates will also adopt the budget for the next fiscal year, give guidance to the board, and conduct other formal business. Read the full draft agenda.
Who May Attend LWVC Council?
All members may attend the plenary sessions but only official delegates (President or their designee) may vote. Register for LWVC Council 2014 now online.
Observing League process is a valuable educational experience for League leaders and transparency is a core value of the League; please encourage your League board, committee chairs, and interested members to attend as observers.
Make sure that your League is thinking ahead: who will be on your board in 2 years? In 5 years? Who will rise to serve at other levels of League? Invite your rising stars to invest in their leadership development by attending LWVC Leadership Council.
