Reimagining Democracy Town Hall Series: The 2020 Election and the Politics of Racial Justice

This panel brings together UC Berkeley scholars and nationally recognized political strategists to share reflections on what the 2020 election holds for the future of democracy and efforts to achieve racial justice in the United States. This will be the first event in a yearlong Reimagining Democracy Town Hall Series that will continue throughout the 2020-2021 academic year. Our special guest will be Ed Batson, who was employed in commercial survey research for over 30 years.  He will give us important, unbiased insight into what polling is really telling us.

Ed worked for such marketing and research companies as Nielsen/Scarborough, DRI & Maritz.  He was Director of Marketing Research for the L A Times for 12 years. As a consultant for the Annenberg School of Communications at USC, Ed focused on projects for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
