Vote Center Plan Public Meeting
Hosted by: The Orange County Registrar of Voters
Invitation Public Notice
Message From Michele Musacchio, LWV Orange Coast Voter Service Director:
By now you know that Vote Centers will be coming to Orange County in 2020. As part of the Voter’s Choice Act roll-out, the OC Registrar of Voters has released the first draft of an election administration plan (EAP) and will present it to the public this coming Thursday, August 29th, at 6 pm at the OC Department of Education at 200 Kalmus Dr in Costa Mesa.
Please join Becky Newman, myself, and League Voter Service directors from all our OC Leagues to support the OC Registrar of Voters at this important milestone in implementing the Voter’s Choice Act.
The public hearing is our opportunity not only to hear the plan but to learn how to assist the public in providing input on the proposed sites for Vote Centers and Ballot Drop-off Boxes, how the public will be educated about them, and how voters who speak a language other than English, and voters who have disabilities, will be supported. Registrar Neal Kelley will demonstrate the Draft Public Comment Form
and will explain how comments will make their way to forming the final EAP draft, to be finalized October 4, 2019.
Vote Centers will be central for League outreach at all levels: in voter registration, in presenting Pros & Cons of the ballot measures, at candidate forums, and in teaching community partners about Voter’s Edge California to learn the facts before they vote. To know more about how we’ll be integrating Vote Centers into voter education, see the Voter’s Choice Act Toolkit
by the LWV of California Education Fund.
More days and more ways to vote! Be there as we usher in a new way to vote in Orange County.
