It depicts the journey of a working-class Italian-American bouncer serving as the driver for an African-American classical pianist during a tour through the racially segregated American South in the 1960s. The movie’s title alludes to the “Negro Motorist Green Book\,” a guidebook offering safe travel accommodations for African-Americans during the Jim Crow era.  For those interested in learning more about the “Green Book\,” please join our upcoming Political Book Club meeting where we will discuss “Overground Railroad: The Green Book and the Roots of Black Travel in America” by Candacy Taylor. This is an important meeting for us and really what the League is all about. Speaker Bio: The Registrar of Voters administers elections\, provides access to voter registration\, maintains voter registration records\, and examines petition signatures. This important work is accomplished in an accessible\, fair\, accurate\, secure\, and transparent manner\, ensuring eligible citizens of Orange County can have their voices heard as voters and candidates for office.  Mr. Page was appointed Registrar of Voters on March 11\, 2022\, by County Executive Officer Frank Kim. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the California Association of Clerks and Election Officials.Prior to joining Orange County\, Mr. Page worked for San Bernardino County for more than 20 years in roles for the Board of Supervisors\, the CEO\, Arrowhead Regional Medical Center\, and as the Registrar of Voters from 2018 to 2022. He also previously worked as a newspaper reporter and university and non-profit fundraiser. He grew up in Orange County and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism._____

Her journey through homelessness in the early 2000s led her to envision and create for herself – and now assist others to create – a stable work environment where one job is enough and housing is a protected right\, like domestic water use. She works with local groups such as MPC Ready\, YIMBY Action\, Menlo Together\, and CERT with Menlo Park Fire. Most recently\, Jenny helped Menlo Park submit their 6th Housing Element.
