As I mentioned in my interview with the Santa Barbara Independent in April, we are experiencing more and more climate, public health and social justice emergencies. I have opposed using the term "social distancing" as a way to describe safe physical distance from the onset of COVID-19, because social connectivity is what is getting us through the current crises – and what will get us through the next.
