Ranging from the rights of gig workers to reforms on our property tax system, the results of the upcoming election will have widespread impact on Californians. Grab your sample ballot and join us for a nonpartisan overview of the most pressing state ballot measures up for a vote this November 3. Led by Mona Field, Co-President of the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles, this online program takes a look at the pros and cons of each measure to help you make informed decisions.
LWVMC Virtual General Meeting: "LWV Positions on Ballot Measures" - Helen Hutchison, will briefly explain each of the twelve Propositions on the November California General Election ballot, and the “Vote with the League” recommendation to vote “Yes” or “No’” or why the LWVC is “Neutral" on each. A question and answer session will follow her presentation as time permits.
Join us for our monthly (virtual) Happy Hour on Wednesday, October 14th at 5:30 p.m.! Catch up with other League members & supporters from the comfort of wherever you are! Please RSVP for the Zoom meeting information.
Many of us have extra time these days. What better way to spend it than with a book! In these trying times, it's also helpful to stay in community, even if we can't personally be with each other. This year--the hundredth anniversary of women's suffrage--we're starting the LWVO Centennial Book Club under the leadership of Trisha Gorman, LWVO Centennial Committee. We'll be meeting over Zoom on the third Thursday of every other month. (Zoom, which is free for users, works with PCs/Macs and on iPhones/Androids.)
Whether you're a new member, been in the League a while, or just thinking about becoming a member, all are welcome at our New Member Orientation! We'll be discussing the history & structure of the League, what we're working on today, and how YOU can get involved! Please RSVP for the meeting link. We'll see you there!
