This panel discussion about homelessness in San Luis Obispo County will provide a concise summary of the most pressing issues facing us right now. LWV SLOCO co-Presidents Cindy Marie Absey and Ann Havlik will introduce the panel, and the discussion will be moderated by Morro Bay City Councilmember Marlys McPherson.  The panelists are leaders in three of the most active and largest organizations providing services to the homeless in SLO:

Please join Placer County League of Women Voters with guest speaker Captain Jeff Swearingen of Placer County Sheriff's Office to learn more about current issues in our community. Captain Swearingen has worked in corrections, transportation, patrol, and as a school resource officer. After working in corrections, Captain Swearingen was the administrative lieutenant in field operations and the lieutenant in administrative support services.

In 1994, Congress called for Martin Luther King Day to become a national day of service. Since 1995, Martin Luther King Day has been observed as a "day on, not a day off" in honor of Dr. King's life of service,

Save the Date!

County League Day will kick off a series of five Community Forums on Sea Level Rise, Wildfire Danger, and other climate issues challenging San Mateo County. The Leagues of San Mateo County are working with the Special District, One Shoreline, to provide education for our communities, both inland and along the San Mateo Coast. League members will help connect with people and organizations that will be impacted by these increasing hazards.
