Prepare your League for Convention

Here are some things you and your League can do now to prepare for Convention:

  1. Your board will need to select who will attend as delegates. Please read further down this email about how many delegates your League is entitled to, based upon your January 31, 2025 membership count.

  2. Consider signing up to be a Regional Gathering host! We encourage convention attendees to gather in-person when they can. To that end, we need you, our local League leaders, to host meet-ups for other members in your geographic area. These can be watch parties, lunches, walks in the park, dinners, cocktail hours, etc. Get creative and get together!

  3. As part of our 2025 LWVC Convention, we plan to inspire delegates and observers with messages from League members across the state and we need your participation! Put on your creative caps and film a 30-second (or less!) video of your League friends, your League board members, or just yourself answering one or more of the following questions:
    1. What inspires you to do the League work you do?
    2. What excites you about the League work you do?
    3. What excites you about 2026?
    4. What does “strengthening democracy” mean to you?
    5. What piece of advice or quote lifts you up and gives you the strength / motivation to keep fighting for what’s right?

Please keep videos under 30 seconds. Please film in landscape – if using a smartphone, turn it horizontal before recording. Send videos by June 8th to convention@lwvc.org. Please add the video as an attachment.

Business of Convention

This is the first call to Convention 2025 as required by the LWVC bylaws, Article IX, Section 8. The LWVC Bylaws govern the composition and business of the convention. Our bylaws direct us (See Article IX, Sec. 5) to:
