Enjoy a curated visit and tour of Descanso Gardens on Saturday, August 4 starting at 10am.  LWV-G/B board member and treasurer and Descanso docent, Susan Hallgren will be our guide. Susan's tour focuses on the inter-relationship of native plants and animals. League members, prospective members and friends and family are invited to join our special tour. Schools & Communities First Press Conference: Prop 13 Qualifies for 2020 Ballot!

On Tuesday, August 14th at 10 am, five simultaneous press conferences across the state will be held to announce the submission of over 850,000 signatures to the 58 county registrars.

This will be the first commercial property tax reform initiative to qualify for the ballot in 40 years since Prop 13 passed in 1978.

Santa Barbara Women's Political Committee will host a community screening of the award-winning documentary film Little Stones, which follows Brazilian graffiti artist Panmela Castro, Senegalese rap-singer Sister Fa, Indian dance therapist Sohini Chakraborty, and fashion designer Anna Taylor as they use their art to combat violence against women and to empower women and girls globally.
