Nancy O”Malley was appointed Alameda County District Attorney in 2009 by the Board of Supervisors and has been reelected in 2010, 2014 & 2018.

She is a nationally recognized expert in issues involving violence against women, violence against persons with disabilities, and interpersonal violence including sexual assault, domestic violence, elder abuse, child abuse, stalking and human exploitation and trafficking. She was the first woman to serve as Alameda County’s District Attorney.

Jodie Smith and Jonathan Stein, current and past Chairs of the Oakland Public Ethics Commission, will help us better understand how the City could redesign its campaign finance laws to expand community participation and equity in the campaign process and reduce the influence of big money in politics.

   Help identify Voting Centers for the 2020 election in Claremont, Diamond Bar, Glendora, La Verne, Pomona, and San Dimas. RSVP

These centers will be open up to 10 days before the election and will allow same day voter registration.  Help decide where these centers will be located!  Sponsored by National Association of Latino Elected Officials Education Fund.  Assistance in Spanish will be available.  Please RSVP as appetizers will be served.

The electoral College is a puzzling system that often has people scratching their heads about how it works and why we use it. The League of Women Voters has advocated for abolishing this antiquated system since 1970, and more and more Americans are beginning to agree. In 2017, the LWV-Illinois began a project to make the abolition of the electoral college a primary goal for all 700 Leagues across the US.
