Dora Rose
Dora Rose is the Deputy Director for the League of Women Voters of California. She joined the staff in 2015 as Senior Director of Civic Engagement. In that role Dora spearheaded civic tech work on Voter’s Edge California, the implementation of the Voter’s Choice Act, and the successful adoption of best practices designed to make official voter information clear and comprehensible.
In her current role, Dora directs the League’s work on both advocacy and education. She is the League’s lobbyist, and her advocacy work focuses on driving impact, pursuant to League principles, through legislation and ballot measures. On the education side, she works to cultivate an informed, empowered, and more representative electorate.
Dora has been a civil rights litigator, policy advocate, and voting rights activist for over twenty-five years. Her experience includes holding leadership positions as General Counsel and Director of Voter Protection for the Ohio Democratic Party, with the Voting Rights Institute, the Center for Election Integrity at Cleveland State University, and as a cooperating attorney with the ACLU of California. Dora is an attorney barred in California, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
